rio de janeiro offers a wide range of convenient transportation options, which makes it possibel to access all of its many attractions with ease. zona sul (south zone) is particlularly well connected to the city's public transport network, that offers easy access to other parts of the city. taxis and ubers are widely available and for a slightly higher price, private drivers can also be hired for an added level of expediency and service. this is the preferred option of travellers concerned about convenience and safety, it is however, not neccessarily the fasted way to reach a destination, due to the often heavy traffic and congestions. genuine taxi drivers can be expected to charge by meter, which calculates the fare throughout the trip and customers can insist on this. card service is becoming increasingly more available in taxis, however, at times drivers will request cash payments. these things are best negotiated at the start of the trip. | largo do machado | |||
